Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 26, 2026

PulseView is privacy-first by design. We built our analytics so you can understand your traffic without surveilling your visitors. Here's the full picture.

1. Our privacy-first promise

PulseView exists because web analytics shouldn't come at the cost of your visitors' privacy. We do not use cookies, we do not collect personal data, and we never track individuals across websites or over time. This policy explains exactly what we do and don't do.

2. What we collect

When someone visits a website that uses PulseView, our lightweight script sends us a small, anonymous event containing only aggregate, non-identifying information:

  • Page URL and page title
  • Referrer (where the visit came from)
  • Browser, operating system, and device type (derived from the User-Agent, then discarded)
  • Country, derived from the IP address — the IP itself is never stored
  • A daily, rotating, one-way hash used only to count unique visitors for a single day

3. What we do NOT collect

We deliberately avoid the data that makes traditional analytics invasive:

  • No cookies or persistent identifiers on visitors' devices
  • No raw IP addresses stored at rest
  • No personal data — names, emails, or anything that identifies a visitor
  • No cross-site or cross-device tracking, and no advertising profiles

4. No cookies, no consent banner

Because PulseView sets no cookies and stores no personal data, in most jurisdictions you are not required to show a cookie consent banner for our analytics. PulseView is designed to be compliant with the GDPR, CCPA, and PECR by default. You remain responsible for your own legal obligations.

5. How visitor counting works

To count unique visitors without cookies, we generate a hash from the visitor's IP address, User-Agent, and a daily-rotating salt. This hash cannot be reversed to identify a person, is scoped to a single website, and is automatically discarded at the end of each day. We never see or keep the underlying inputs.

6. Your data is yours

If you are a PulseView customer, the analytics data for your websites belongs to you. We do not sell it, share it, or use it to build advertising profiles. You can export or delete your data at any time, and deleting a site removes its associated analytics.

7. Account data

To provide the service we store the information you give us when you sign up — your email address and a securely hashed password — plus the configuration of the websites you add. This data is used only to operate your account and is never sold.

8. Sub-processors and hosting

We host PulseView on infrastructure that processes data on our behalf under appropriate data-processing terms. We keep the number of sub-processors to a minimum and choose providers that meet recognized security and privacy standards.

9. Data retention

Aggregate analytics are retained for as long as your account is active so you can see historical trends. Daily visitor hashes are discarded within 24 hours. If you close your account, we delete your data within a reasonable period unless we are legally required to keep it.
